CM-DAT AWARDED INNOVATE UK FUNDING FOR PLATFORM DEVELOPMENT

Data-driven decision making. It sounds good on paper. But, for large service organisations, it remains an elusive goal. Disparate systems, disconnected data, and an increasingly complex business environment constrain even the best decision-makers from doing their job properly.

That's why we set out a vision to develop CM-DAT in 2019. And, following positive prototype feedback, Innovate UK has awarded Community Models with funding to fast-forward the progress of this important product.

CM-DAT is a Data-driven Decision Management Platform aimed at helping senior decision-makers in large service organisations make better decisions faster while never losing track of performance and costs due to incomplete information. Whether in the public, private or not-for-profit sectors – CM-DAT will help our customers see the whole picture around their performance and costs in real-time. We will also help them move from uncertainty to risk-mitigated action, faster than previously possible, with advanced scenario modelling. This capability has never been so important as now.

When solving problems in the community and making investment and divestment decisions, looking at data in the rear-view mirror isn't enough. Looking at individual data points in isolation is incomplete, even misleading. CM-DAT will fast-track our customers past the limitations of manual reporting and generic business intelligence tools with one platform and a flexible technology toolkit. The components will include data warehousing, data aggregation, visual analytics, scenario modelling, and real-time reporting - effectively systematising analytical approaches already proven in Care, Community Health, Housing, Highways, and other Place-based Services.

Through this project, the proposed CM-DAT platform will help Social Care managers across the UK better inform and speed up decision-making around the short, medium and long- term impact of changes in their approaches to staffing, property, and technology. Optimisation in the planning and management of these resources will be critical to the sector's future economic viability. Equally, it will help create operating models that will be more environmentally sustainable, reducing carbon and addressing the climate emergency.
